I checked documentation on the retropie site for the MAME emulator and couldn't find any settings / configurations detailed for Fast Forward mode. The Snes9X is dominating the free emulator market. Is this the expected behavior out of the box? My preference would be to assign fast forward mode toggle to another key or to turn it off completely. This means that whenever I want to credit a game to play, the game goes into fast forward mode. You can use the emulator completely with a controller, no keyboard or mouse required.

I use the space bar to add a credit to the game so that I can play. Unoficial Snes9x Windows v1.39 beta9.9.82 (gcc MinGW Compiled i686) Unoficial Snes9x Windows v1.39 beta9.9.82 (VC++ Compiled UOsxwB994s.cab beta9.9. that I would 'need' is the Fast Forward key, theres nothing like 'Bring Up Menu', 'Load ROM', etc. Go to your snes9x folder, find the configuration file (nf), open it, find 'enable APU' or something like that (it's under the sound category) and replace 'FALSE' with 'TRUE'. Fast forward mode does toggle off when I press the space bar again. When the music crashes due to bad addmusic and you close snes9x without resetting the ROM, it will do that. The problem I have is that whenever the select button / space bar is pressed while a game is loaded, the game goes into Fast Forward mode. For the controller configuration, I setup the space bar as the "select" button and I also setup the space bar as the "hotkey" as suggested on the getting started page. The only thing I have done thus far is setup my controller (keyboard) and copied over some MAME roms (for the mame-libretro emulator). I haven't made any configuration changes. I got the image from the Retropie website: retropie-4.5.1-rpi2_rpi3.
I installed Retropie on my Raspberry Pi 2.
